Site Issues

August 20, 2009

The OLA website is still in beta and we do not have the funds to support a programmer coder so all of the coding is being done by Mr. Wizard. The achievements are there to give more content to the site and OLA is not trying to spam you, all of the emails are relevant to Ontario League of Artists and its projects. The emails received by the achievements were for rewards that should have been earned over time, but for already experienced users they may have received it all at once, hence the large amount of emails.

If you do not want to receive email notifications for updates to your OLA user account, you can turn them all off on your profile:

  1. Login to your OLA account
  2. Go to your account page
  3. Click Settings tab on the left hand side of your account
  4. Under the Options column click Notifications
  5. Now highlight yes or no to the events you want be emailed for

Profile Avatars

The avatar black out problem started when the site version was updated, so it is still being figured out. Meanwhile, please check out the forum and post!

If anyone wishes to help out with the website coding and get this awesome site going,  please email ontarioleagueofartists@gmail.com

Warning: Coding for the site is not paid (yet) but will get you in the good graces of OLA

OLA TV

July 20, 2009

OLA TV is a project that we are starting at the SSauga Sketch Session where we film the members and guests who come to the session. While people are doing their thing (talking, sketching, drinking coffee), we quietly will film segments of the show such as:

  • Questions of the Day
  • Artist of Week
  • Minimum 1 or 2 discussions
  • Updates on OLA’s website

Mind you, these are working titles and also working segments. The show is subject to lots of changes, and mostly experimental. The show is there to create hype and show that we do really exist, and aren’t just cartoons and avatars on the monitor (at least I think so…).

For last week’s SSauga Sketch Session (July 18, 2009), people may have noticed us filming and we were suppose to cut together the first episode but there were many problems with audio. So, first episode will have to be filmed at this week’s Session (July 25, 2009).

We can also discuss this in the forums if you guys have any questions or comments, which are always welcome.
